Soft / attested
Soft. The SoundCloud API won't reliably read a repost, like, or follow back — that's the whole reason gates moved off it. So GateCrate records these as a best-effort click-through, marked honestly as attested, not verified. We never dress a soft step up as a hard one. If a read-back ever becomes available, a later re-check can quietly upgrade it.
Find your profile or track URL

Open your SoundCloud profile (for a follow) or the specific track (for a like or repost) on the web at soundcloud.com.

Copy the address bar URL — soundcloud.com/your-name for a follow, or soundcloud.com/your-name/the-track for a like or repost.

Paste it into the builder. GateCrate resolves it to the underlying user or track reference for you; you do not need to find the raw URN by hand.
Heads up — Repost is the default action because it is the move with the most reach — but be straight with fans that it is a trust-based step, not a verified one.

What the fan sees.

The fan sees the step labelled as a repost (or like / follow) with an honest marker that it is best-effort, not a hard check.

They click through to SoundCloud and do the action — repost your track, like it, or follow you.

They confirm they did it. The step records as attested with a timestamp. It counts toward the unlock, and your CRM stores it as soft so you always know which signups came from a proven action versus a trusted one.
Whatever the fan connects to clear this step stays walled off from your artist login — their SoundCloud session never touches yours, and yours never touches theirs.
